Do you fix punctures?
Yes! No jobs are too small. If that’s all you’re struggling with, let me help.
Are you a bike shop?
No. Road and Trail is run as an independent workshop which requires a booking before bringing your bike to me. I don’t have a “shop front” as such, so best to call, message or email before bringing your bike in. Road and Trail may be a shop one day…Watch this space.
How do you differ from a high street bike shop?
Personal service. From the initial contact with Road and Trail, right through to handing the bike back to you, Will all be delt with by myself. Something you perhaps don’t get with a bike shop. Got an issue out on your Sunday ride you’re not sure about? send me a message with a picture and I’ll try and help you out. That level of personal service.
Are you able to collect my bike?
Yes. I’m happy to collect your bike and return to you when the work is complete. Local to my workshop in Puddington (Neston) I can collect free of charge. Further afield, there may be a small fee to cover time and travel costs.
What bikes do you work on?
All sorts of bikes! Road, mountain, gravel, Kids bikes, town bikes, commuters. If it’s got wheels, I’m happy to take a look.
Do you work on E-bikes?
I offer limited repairs and servicing on e-bikes currently. Happy to work on gears, brakes etc. Motors and electrical issues and faults, you’d be best to contact an e-bike specialist.
Do you service suspension?
I do through a specialist suspension servicing workshop. Forks and shocks can be removed from the bike and sent away to be serviced by a specialist in the field. Having used them for several years, they offer a professional service at a competitive price.
Usual turnaround time typically one week from removing the forks to re fitting them after the service.
Can I supply my own parts?
Of course. If you have some upgrades or new parts you’d like fitting, I can do that. I can also supply and fit new components and upgrades at competitive prices.
How do I book my bike in with you?
Easy. Give me a call, message, email, WhatsApp. Whichever suits you and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible with a date that suits you. I can either collect your bike from your address, or we can arrange to drop your bike with me.
Which level of service do I need?
Before any work is carried out, I always give the bike a visual inspection to see what condition the frame and components are in. This way I can advise what service level will best suit the bike at that particular time. Wear and tear on components can varies from bike to bike.
Do you restore and repair old vintage/retro bikes?
Yes. Restoring old vintage steel frame bikes from the 80’s/ 90’s is a particular passion.
Everything is always fixable or restorable! That old bike sat in the garage will probably still be ridable with a little bit of love and tlc.
